How did Y2Y begin?
In the spring of 2015, Job Corps students decided to organize and take action around the issue of preventing youth violence in the United States.
Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace, or “Y2Y,” is a violence-prevention initiative created by and led by Job Corps students nationwide.
What are students doing to prevent violence on their campuses and in their communities? They are talking about violence and aggression. They are learning about how their peers have been affected by youth violence. They are empowering one another to make a difference. And, most importantly, they are suggesting solutions.
Job Corps is committed to being a safe and secure environment for young people to receive education and hands-on career training. We are proud to support the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention and My Brother’s Keeper.
